On behalf of the West Virginia Public Transit Association, thank you to everyone who supported our “Stuff the Black Bear Bus” Flood Relief Campaign during the 2026 WVPTA Conference.

Because of your kindness, the Black Bear Bus was filled with much-needed supplies for families affected by the devastating flooding in Lewis and Upshur Counties. Conference attendees, public transit agencies, vendors, sponsors, and guests came together to donate cleaning supplies, paper products, fans, food, hygiene items, bottled water, blankets, and countless other essentials that will help our fellow West Virginians recover.

A special thank you goes to David Clawson and Rohrer Bus, who generously donated the bus and personally transported the donated supplies to the relief center in Weston following the conference. Their support helped make this effort possible.

This campaign reminded us that public transit is about more than transportation—it’s about serving our communities. The compassion and teamwork shown by everyone involved truly embodied the spirit of West Virginia.

Whether you donated a single item, several boxes of supplies, helped spread the word, or volunteered your time, you made a difference.

Thank you for proving, once again, that when West Virginia comes together, we can accomplish amazing things.
